Mascarpone is an Italian cheese that has a very pleasantly rich taste but contains half the calories of butter. It’s mostly known for being used in Tiramisu and cheesecakes, yet can be used in place of cream cheese and added to many creams, frostings, and dips. Mascarpone whipped cream is one of my favorite choices to compliment many pastries because of its unusual taste and luxurious texture. Try it as a topping on our Double-Chocolate Pancakes-Oladiki.
- Ingredients
- 1 pint or 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 4 oz. or ½ cup mascarpone
- 2-3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Coffee liqueur (Kahlua)
- Grand Marnier (for pairing with fruit)
- Amaretto (For an almond flavor)
- Depending on the brand of mascarpone, you may need to let your mascarpone sit at room temperature to soften if it seems very thick.
- In your mixer with a whip attachment, whip the heavy whipping cream and mascarpone together until the beaters leave a trail.
- Add powdered sugar and flavorings.
- Take care not to over whip, once soft peaks began to form, turn off mixer. If over whipped, there is no reversing this, so don’t walk away or get distracted during this time.
- Use immediately, or store covered in the refrigerator for up to a week.

I did the Mascarpone Whip Cream several times. It’s one of my favorite. I use it for desserts and for cakes. Always turned out great! Thank you Victoria.

Mascarpone is a great alternative to using cream cheese and tastes amazing. You can also add extracts, syrups, and liqueur to flavor it.
