Growing up in a Russian household, we quickly learned to love tea. Iced tea satisfies our thirst for tea in the hot summer months. It is ranked as one of the most popular summer drinks. Making your own iced tea is not only cost-effective but also healthier and tastier! Whether you choose black tea, green tea, or a caffeine-free fruit tea, the options for flavoring them are endless.
- 2 liters or 8 cups boiling water
- 6 Lipton tea bags
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 Cup water
- 1 Orange peel
- 1 Lemon peel
- Pour boiling water over 6 tea bags, let steep for 15 minutes.
- To make simple syrup: Combine water, sugar, orange and lemon peels. Bring to a boil, lower the heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Fill a pitcher with ice and add the hot tea and simple syrup to taste. The ice will cool down the hot tea and the simple syrup, making it ready to drink right away.
- Add fresh mint leaves and lemon and orange slices for serving.
Raspberry Iced Tea: Use 1 cup frozen or fresh raspberries. Mash and strain the berries to get rid of the seeds. Add the puree to the ready iced tea.
Peach Iced Tea: We use Torani peach syrup to make peach flavored iced tea. Note: Add the syrup first, then half of the simple syrup to taste because the peach syrup can be used as a sweetener as well.

I have been looking for a iced tea recipe for a long time and when I found this, I have never tasted something so amazing. This is the Go-To ice tea for a hot summer afternoon. 10/10 would recommend for any mouth. Thank you Victoria!

You’re welcome! It’s definitely a great alternative to the packaged iced teas and you can moderate the sweetness and flavors easily.
